Look around for The Shanteyman, Middle School Musicals, Voice Instruction....it's all here!!
Stay Safe!! For the time being my choruses and private lessons are on hold. But, you can join me 'live' on FaceBook, Saturday mornings at 9:30 for a virtual singlong.
I have told stories to students for years. In fact, I wrote an article for the American Orff-Schulwerk's publication, The Echo, about story telling in the music classroom. It seems that the power of storytelling can 'pre-teach' a musical concept. Many years ago, my second graders could not move to a macro-beat, so I told them a story about "Slo-Mo Cereal: the Cereal That Really Slows You Down." The students were able to move in 'slow motion' just like the characters in the story. All I had to do was add a slow beat.
I've added a story here "The Washing Machine Box" which is based on an actual occurrence in my childhood. Take a listen!
